Krasnodarzernoprodukt Company (KZP) got its food safety management system certified as compliant with requirements of internationally recognized FSSC 22000 Food Safety Management Systems Standard, under accreditation of SGS (Switzerland). The Certificate covers manufacturing of rice cereals, legumes and snack products from corn and wheat grain at KZP facilities in Adygeisk (Republic of Adygeya).
The company initiated this certification aiming to build an effective management system capable to ensure production safety and international level of the product quality. The process took about a year during which all the recommendations of the certification authority were implemented, the necessary SGS audits completed and certificate no. CH16/1648 obtained.
It is believed in KZP that certification against FSSC 22000 standard will foster the company competitiveness on the Russian market as a supplier of goods to major retail chains. For many years KZP has produced high-quality wheat flour, semolina and rice cereals, and in 2017 production of peas, chickpeas and lentils started.
Krasnodarzernoprodukt is a grower and one of the major Russian exporters of agricultural products. Today its sales volume is constituted predominantly of raw grain. The company aims to diversify its product portfolio to offer the market value added goods, including milled products. The FSSC 22000 certification will allow KZP to accelerate promotion of processed grains and pulses, be more efficient in international trade and tenders, enhance its potential for supply the countries of the Black Sea basin, Central Asia, North Africa, Europe and the Customs Union.

FSSC 22000 is the new global Food Safety Management Systems standard. It combines ISO 22000 Food Safety Management System, PAS 220 and other additional requirements fully acknowledged by GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) Organization. This program is designed for food manufacturers who supply or plan to supply their products to major food retailers or branded food manufacturers.
